Method & references

  • Hertz contact theory for elastic bodies in elliptical contact — same derivation as e2_2 (Brewe & Hamrock K approximation).
  • Legacy e2_7.htm returns unrounded values (no Math.round), unlike e2_2.htm; preserved verbatim.
  • A radius of 0 in a given plane represents a flat surface in that plane.
