This privacy policy explains what personal data Engineering ABC collects when you use this website, why, and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who we are

Engineering ABC is a brand of Tribos, the sole proprietorship of Anton van Beek (founded 1996) and publisher of the book Advanced Engineering Design. Tribos is the data controller for your personal data.

What data we collect

• None, on this website itself. This site does not have its own account system, does not use tracking or advertising cookies, and does not ask you to submit personal data. The only cookie set is a functional one that remembers your language preference (English/Dutch).
• If you contact us by email, we naturally see your email address and whatever you write to us — used only to reply to you.

Purchases and downloads

• Buying the book, formula booklets or other downloads happens on our separate webshop, engineering-abc.shop, which has its own account and order system and its own privacy handling for that data — this policy covers this website only.

Where this site does process any personal data (e.g. a reply to an email you sent us), the legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to you.

Where this site runs

This website itself runs on Vercel. It does not store any personal data of its own — see “What data we collect” above.

How long we keep it

We keep emails you send us for as long as reasonably needed to answer you and keep a record of the correspondence.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and delete any personal data we hold about you (for most visitors, none beyond an email you may have sent us) — email us to exercise this right. You can also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Cookies

We only use one functional cookie, to remember which language (English/Dutch) you last used. We do not place tracking or advertising cookies.
