Teaching

Courses

The knowledge on this site has been taught for years in industry courses. The problem-based format — where participants bring their own cases — is the reason engineers keep coming even though the theory is freely available.

Tribology

A past edition’s Mikrocentrum course brochure — evidence of the course’s history, not a current schedule (see the providers for actual dates).

A four-day course on tribology, bearing design and machine reliability, taught at Mikrocentrum (Eindhoven). Participants have included engineers from ASML, DAF Trucks, Philips, Tata Steel and other high-tech and manufacturing companies.

Next session

Autumn 2026: 3, 10, 17 and 24 November, in Utrecht. (The spring 2026 edition, 1, 8, 15 April and 6 May in Veldhoven, has already taken place.) Confirm with Mikrocentrum before registering — dates can change.

Bearings in high-tech systems

A course on hydrodynamic, hydrostatic and air bearings, taught together with Ron van Ostayen (TU Delft). It covers the specialist bearing material that also underpins the gas-bearing tools here.

Course scheduling and registration run through the course providers, not through this site. This page documents the curriculum; it does not sell a product.
