The knowledge on this site has been taught for years in industry courses. The problem-based format — where participants bring their own cases — is the reason engineers keep coming even though the theory is freely available.
Tribology
A four-day course on tribology, bearing design and machine reliability, taught at Mikrocentrum (Eindhoven). Participants have included engineers from ASML, DAF Trucks, Philips, Tata Steel and other high-tech and manufacturing companies.
Bearings in high-tech systems
A course on hydrodynamic, hydrostatic and air bearings, taught together with Ron van Ostayen (TU Delft). It covers the specialist bearing material that also underpins the gas-bearing tools here.
